Training Puppies

Training puppies is not easy, which is probably why God made them so irresistibly cute! When you first get a puppy you should set straight to work on training it. The puppy shouldn’t get too comfortable being the center of attention if in the end it won’t turn out that way. Try to restrain yourself from constantly playing with the puppy and loving it for hours on end if you won’t keep this up for long.

On the other hand there are things you need to do if you own a dog. For instance you need to walk it and give it attention every single day. This doesn’t mean put it out on a chain and bring it food and water everyday. Even if the dog has a run this isn’t a good idea. You need to socialize with your pet, take it out for walks in your neighborhood and play with it on a regular basis.

Once you get on a regular schedule with your dog you can housebreak it. This just means teach it to go to the bathroom outside. It can be pretty difficult in the beginning, but you need to stay persistent. Constantly let the dog outside to use the bathroom at first. You should also let the dog out in the middle of the night so it can go potty while you are training it, at least while it is small.

It may seem never ending, but in reality it should probably only take a week or two of doing this to teach the dog it needs to go to the bathroom outdoors.   Remember perseverance pays!

If you ever have to leave the dog alone for several hours, make sure you lay out newspaper for it, just in case it must go. You should never leave a dog alone for too long if you can prevent it. This can lead to behavioral problems. More Information on Housebreaking your puppy.
